Migra 3

Migra3® is not a medicine but it is a dietary supplement based on co-enzyme Q10 and optimized through a balanced composition of micro-nutrients designed for the dietetic treatment of migraine patients. Migra3® contains migraine relevant micro-nutrients as they occur in ordinary daily food products but in quantities which correspond to the needs of migraine patients and which could not ordinarily be ingested in the course of a normal diet. A regular dose of Migra3® compensates for deficiencies in micro-nutrients which could not be otherwise avoided. In clinical studies Migra3® has been shown to be effective in reducing the frequency and intensity of migraine attacks.

Recommended Dosage:

Take 1 capsule per day before breakfast together with a pocket of powder dissolved in (lukewarm) water. To compensate for a deficiency in micro-nutrients it is recommended that Migra3 be taken regularly for a protracted period of time.

During migraine: take 2 capsules together with 2 pockets of powder dissolved in water. After 2 hours, repeat the dosage unless a regular dose was taken with breakfast. Then, this second dose should consist of 1 capsule and 1 pocket of powder.

Regarding Migraine and Migra 3®

Approximately 12% of the population suffer from migraine and the number is increasing - also among children and adolescents. A migraine episode is characterized by two related events: A decrease in energy and an increase in accumulation of destructive radical substances that promote inflammation. The promotion of energy generation and the neutralization of radical substances therefore are important aspects which can be influenced by dietary supplements. Migra3 is a dietetic foodstuff used for the relief of migraines. It supports the generation of energy in the brain and helps to neutralize radical substances.

The importance of certain micro-nutrients for migraine include the following:• The daily requirement of coenzyme Q10 for migraine sufferers cannot be practically and dependably ingested with a normal diet.• Magnesium has been shown to work advantageously against angiospasm.• Omega 3 fatty acids favourably influence a tendency to inflammation.• Anthocyones are antioxidants which neutralize destructive free radicals.

Important questions and answers:

How long shall I take Migra 3®?

To compensate for a deficiency in micro-nutrients it is recommended that Migra 3® be taken regularly over a longer period of time.

May children and adolescents take Migra 3®?

Yes, Migra 3® is suitable for children from the age of 10. From this age onward the adult dosage may be taken.

Are there any undesirable side effects?

No, there are no such side effects known.

Are there any limits on use of Migra 3®?
If you are allergic or intolerant to any of the substances contained therein (e.g., soy) then you should not take Migra 3®.

How should I store Migra 3®?
Store at room temperature not exceeding 25°C and keep out of reach of small children.

Co-enzyme Q10 indispensable for the brain Co-enzyme Q10 is very much like a vitamin and is found in all bodily cells. It plays an essential role in the production of energy in the cells and acts as a powerful anti-oxidant against free radicals. Co-enzyme Q10 particularly protects fat (the brain is 60% fat) from destruction by such aggressive molecules. In corresponding studies it could be shown that co-enzyme Q10 can reduce migraine frequency when taken in the amounts contained in Migra3®.

Additional micro-nutrients in Migra3® which supplement Q10 effectively Omega3 fatty acids: These are the brain’s most important fatty
acid nutrients and are indispensable for its development, operation and maintenance balancing out the Omega6 fatty acids (e.g., occurring in sunflower oil or margarine) for a even balance of inflammatory processes playing a role in the onset of migraine. Anthocyanogen from blueberries and black-currents: The red and blue colour pigments from these fruits belong to the group of secondary herbal substances and are regarded as powerful antioxidants in the fight against free radicals. They moreover have a positive influence on the dilation and elasticity of blood vessels.

Concerning Orthomolecular Medicine A sufficient supply of micro-nutrients like vitamins and minerals are indispensable to the maintenance of good health. Special micro-nutrient compounds can be used to counter the effects of existing illness in a controlled fashion. This form of therapy is called orthomolecular medicine. Magnesium: Migraine patients often display low levels of magnesium in their blood. This anti-stress mineral helps avoid blood vessel cramping, has a relaxing effect and plays an important role in the transmission of neuro-muscular impulses by reducing the irritability of muscles and nerves. It also influences impulse carrying substances in the brain and inhibits inflammation. In Migra3® this mineral takes the form of magnesium citrate which is easily absorbed by the body.

Zinc: The trace element zinc works as a catalyst for the functioning of over 200 enzymes and is involved in hormones metabolism. Zinc is also responsible for the dumping of synthesizing prostaglandins – hormone like substances with anti-inflammatory characteristics. Selenium: The essential trace element acts as a radical catcher in the regulation of inflammation processes. Where diet is unbalanced or the patient is under particular pressures leading to a higher selenium requirement, it is not always possible – especially where farmland is depleted – to ingest enough selenium through normal diet.

Vitamin C: Has a priority position amongst vitamins due to its heavy involvement in metabolic processes and the regulation of
infection and inflammation. Regular ingestion is necessary because Vitamin C can not be stored by the body.

B-Vitamins: Our brain is particularly dependent on the optional functioning of sugar metabolism because under normal conditions blood sugar is used exclusively for the generation of mental energy. In some cases, where intensive mental effort is involved, up to 50% of the entire sugar requirement can be consumed by the brain. An optimization of sugar metabolism through the daily ingestion of sufficient quantities of the B-Vitamins necessary to this process – supplemented by the trace elements chrome and zinc – can be very helpful in keeping the system in balance.

Chrome: This trace element cannot be produced by the body and must be supplied from external sources (nutrients). Stress can cause an excess of chrome to be eliminated in the urine. A chrome deficiency can lead to high sugar values in the blood.

Soy-Isoflavones: These herbal substances are derived from soy beans and have been a part of Asiatic nutritional culture for thousands of years. Soy-Isoflavones are also referred to as phytoestrogens because of their role in keeping the male and female sexual hormone household in balance.
